Overview

Our client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a Data Modeler to fill a KEY POSITION on a Federal Project in Springfield, VA.  As the Senior Data Modeler & Standards Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development, profiling, and application of GEOINT data content standards. Acting as both a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and technical lead, you will drive the organization, coordination, and implementation of standards across diverse teams and stakeholders. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring compliance, interoperability, and risk reduction while aligning with the evolving needs of our agency, national organizations, and international partners.

 

Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens, with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance. 

Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Spearhead the development and evolution of GEOINT standards to meet programmatic and strategic objectives.
    • Champion compliance with NSG & ASG requirements, integrating them seamlessly into our standards framework.
    • Develop capability-based standards profiles and reference architectures to enable advanced analytics and intelligence integration.
  2. Standards Development & Implementation:
    • Lead the creation and maintenance of standards documents, ensuring alignment with user requirements and industry best practices.
    • Collaborate with users to develop tailored solutions, addressing Content Development Requests and internal modeling enhancements.
    • Monitor industry standards and integrate updates accordingly, maintaining content baselines and software infrastructure as needed.
  3. Process Improvement & Governance:
    • Identify and implement process enhancements to streamline standards development and maintenance.
    • Ensure robust configuration management and professional engagement with participating organizations.
    • Conduct outreach activities to promote standards adoption and provide ongoing support to users.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data modeling, analytics, or data science.
  • Proficiency in UML, logical data modeling, RDF, OWL, and JSON.
  • Familiarity with SKOS and XML-based technologies.
  • Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens, with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance

Preferred:

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading and mentoring junior/mid-level personnel.
  • Familiarity with Sparx Enterprise Architect and MySQL.
  • Knowledge of SQL, GML, XML schema, and Java
  • Proven ability to evaluate and recommend new technologies and processes.
