Overview

Our client has upcoming project needs for Junior-Level Scrum Masters to support a U.S. Homeland Security program. This multi-year Federal project is in Annapolis Junction, MD, is mostly remote, but some onsite presence is needed. Feel good about your work, as your team looks to ensure the safety of flights in the United States with passenger screening. As a Junior Scrum Master, you will work with multiple scrum masters and the Release Train Engineer to learn the foundations of Agile delivery, team ceremony facilitation, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement.  If you’re adept at customer service and eager to grow your skills in an Agile environment, this is the role for you!

Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be US Citizens with an Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Scrum Team by supporting SAFe Core Values, Principles, practices, and ScrumXP rules.
  • Help the team improve quality, predictability, flow, and speed. Keep the team focused on daily and Sprint Goals aligned with current PI Objectives, and guide in using story points for estimates.
  • Facilitate all team meetings: daily stand-up, Sprint Planning, Team Demos, and Retrospectives, and represent the team in Scrum of Scrums.
  • Work with other teams, Product Owners, and Stakeholders to align priorities, scope, and deployment activities.
  • Support the team in preparing for ART events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years of experience performing as a scrum master utilizing SAFe methodologies or similar Agile servant leadership role.

  • 2+ years of experience facilitating communication/collaboration with client and development team staff through in-person and virtual settings

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be US Citizens with an Active Secret Clearance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAFe Certified Scrum Master

  • Prior experience in software development, preferably in a Java/open source technical environment

Compensation

Competitive salary range of $100K-$125K, based on experience, qualifications, location, and certifications.  The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
