Overview

Our client is supporting a US Homeland Security Mission on a long-term contract. They have an upcoming need for a Senior-Level Java Developer in Columbia, MD (a partial remote schedule is offered, but candidates must be local.) Join a team of developers building the next generation of customer engagement systems for Federal Service Agencies. In this role, you will build web and backend applications/services for a credentialing/case management system. Feel good about your work, as your team looks to ensure the safety of flights in the United States with passenger screening.

 

Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be US Citizens with an Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of multiple applications for a large scale Federal IT Program using Java/Spring based REST APIs along with a Web 2.0 framework and a continuous integration environment
  • Develop Java/Spring solutions, and lead team(s) of software developers in implementing solutions and conducting detailed design reviews

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8+ years of hands-on development experience, including at least 6+ years of Java/Spring development experience

  • 6+ years of experience using Java development tools (e.g. Eclipse, JUnit, Git)
  • 3+ years of experience with developing applications using the Java Spring framework
  • 3 years of work experience with Web development technologies (JavaScript, HTML, JSP, etc.)
  • 3 years of experience in developing using Agile Scrum methodologies

  • Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be US Citizens with an Active Secret Clearance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Detailed understanding of database schema design/SQL
  • Experience leading a team of developers for a large scale Federal IT program

Compensation

Competitive salary range of $115K-$130K, based on experience, qualifications, location, and certifications.  The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
