Overview

The Squires Group has a contract opportunity for a Senior-Level GEOINT Imagery Standards Developer.  Work with our client on a project providing Foundational Systems Engineering activities to a Federal Agency that delivers a decisive advantage to policymakers, warfighters, intelligence professionals and first responders. The work location is Springfield, VA and *MAY* offer some telework opportunities.

 

We are looking for a candidate with a strong grasp of GEOINT Imagery Standards, rather than an imagery analyst or GIS technologist. The ideal candidate has experience with imaging sensor technologies and various imagery collection aspects, providing a comprehensive understanding of the data required to fully describe an image collection event at both the pixel and metadata levels. This foundational knowledge supports all downstream processing and handling. Additionally, strong technical writing skills are essential for creating clear, concise, and well-structured documentation for technical standards.

 

Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens, with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree plus 4 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years’ experience
  • Senior-level working experience (4 years or more) developing Imagery Standards.
  • Imaging Process – Understand sensors and their collection parameters.
  • Imaging Workflow – Track imagery flow and metadata processing.
  • GEOINT Standards
    • File Formats – Know NITF and other formats.
    • Metadata – Differentiate models vs. encodings.
    • Image Representation – Understand pixel structuring and compression.
    • Dissemination – Compare FTP vs. streaming protocols.
  • Technical Writing – Write clear, precise GEOINT standards.
  • Learning & Engagement – Ask questions, stay proactive, and lead discussions.
  • Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens, with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance

  • W2 Hourly rate: $76 - $80. Pay rates are based on experience, qualifications, location, and certifications, and are subject to change at any time.
