The Squires Group is seeking an experienced Senior Policy Strategist/Architect to support a critical federal program focused on advancing cybersecurity and technology security initiatives. In this roleyou will lead the development, implementation, and alignment of cybersecurity policies and procedures by assessing the impact of emerging technologies and national regulations, recommending and coordinating policy changes, automating policy tasks, collaborating across agencies and stakeholders, supporting system development life cycles, and producing regular reports to guide operational improvements and strategic growth.
Work will be performed ONSITE in Arlington, VA. Per our client contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens, able to obtain an Interim Secret clearance prior to start, with eligibility to obtain a final TS/SCI security clearance.
Lead the planning, design, development, and implementation of cybersecurity policies and procedures in response to evolving technologies.
Assess the impact of changes within the Department’s IT environment—including new and emerging technologies, software, hardware, and firmware—and formulate technical justifications for updates to policies and standards.
Evaluate and generate policy impact reports in response to new or updated national and departmental regulations affecting DOS cybersecurity policies, standards, and CTS operations.
Identify operational challenges and apply design modifications based on analysis of policy trends and reporting.
Propose updates to DOS cybersecurity policies, standards, and CTS programs to ensure compliance with national and departmental regulatory changes.
Advise on and coordinate clearances for unattended IT operations at Critical Threat posts.
Engage in intra-agency working groups focused on cybersecurity policy development.
Design and implement processes for automating policy-related tasks, and support user-focused system development activities including requirements gathering, functional design, and user acceptance testing.
Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports and deliverables detailing team activities, achievements, and outstanding issues.
Analyze the current structure of the ET Division to identify opportunities for collaboration and develop a strategic growth plan with the customer to enhance integration.
Collaborate with ETD CSS Liaisons to enhance understanding of their mission scope, especially regarding unmapped PWS requirements and evolving directives.
Coordinate with external entities to gather requirements that can be addressed by ET, improving prioritization of work efforts.
Provide business consulting to FTD for future application development to support growth of the ADWS organization.
Compile quarterly reports on emerging technical trends impacting DS, and similarly develop reports for FTD on cybersecurity and communication controls influencing Post security.
Offer strategic planning guidance to IET to support the transformation into a focused center for security and technology innovation.
Support the Policy Division in defining mission requirements for revising the FAM/FAH in accordance with the latest NIST 800-53 standards.
Establish a comprehensive understanding of key stakeholders across the Department, including IRM, CTS CTO, and CIO, to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
