Our client, a mission-driven organization in the information and technology sector, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team. This position is 100% onsite at their office in Anne Arundel County. As a key member of the team, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and timekeeping across multiple states and locations.

Manage the full-cycle processing of semi-monthly payroll for a multi-state workforce of over 150 employees
Accurately calculate wages, bonuses, overtime, vacation, and holiday pay in compliance with state and local labor laws
Oversee timesheet submissions, ensuring timely and accurate entry from all departments
Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, resolving discrepancies and collaborating closely with Accounting and HR teams
Perform regular audits of payroll transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance
Prepare payroll reports and documentation for review by the Senior Accountant
Monitor and maintain up-to-date knowledge of wage laws and regulatory changes across multiple states and jurisdictions
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, or a related field
Minimum of three years of payroll experience, with a strong focus on multi-state payroll processing
Government contracting payroll experience is required, including knowledge of compliance and reporting standards
Proficiency in payroll systems; experience with iSolved is highly preferred
Familiarity with Unanet or similar timekeeping platforms is a strong plus
Solid understanding of federal tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and labor legislation
Proven ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across departments
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management capabilities
FPC or CPP certification preferred
