Overview

Our client, a major utility company in Springfield, VA, is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Occupational Health Coordinator to provide onsite support in coordinating occupational health and compliance services. This position supports key programs such as workers’ compensation, OSHA surveillance, drug and alcohol testing, and pre-employment screening.

This role is onsite in Springfield, VA.  Per our client contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records and compliance tracking systems for DOT and OSHA requirements.
  • Coordinate the reporting, documentation, and follow-up of work-related injuries and workers’ compensation claims.
  • Schedule and manage pre-employment physicals, drug and alcohol testing (per PHMSA and FMCSA guidelines), and OSHA medical surveillance (HAZWOPER, respiratory, hearing, hepatitis B).
  • Communicate program eligibility and compliance status to employees and management.
  • Collaborate with HR, Benefits, and Wellness teams on employee leave tracking and issue resolution.
  • Perform annual DOT Clearinghouse checks for CDL drivers and support occupational health compliance efforts.

Qualifications

  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in compliance tracking and documentation
  • Customer Service: Ability to interact professionally and empathetically with employees
  • Technical Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Outlook)

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years in a customer service, administrative, or compliance-related support role
  • Experience working with occupational health, safety, or HR processes a plus
  • Ability to work onsite full-time during standard business hours
