Overview

Zero Trust Cybersecurity Consultant – Supporting Zero Trust initiatives across OT environments
Location: Onsite at the Pentagon (3 days remote / 2 days onsite)
Clearance Required: Active Secret 

 

We're seeking a mid-level Cybersecurity Consultant (3–5 years' experience) to help architect, deploy, and refine Zero Trust network enclaves within the Armed Forces' Operational Technology (OT) programs.

 

You’ll design secure enclave topologies, implement segmentation strategies (VLANs, ZTNA gateways, NAC), and guide certification efforts (eMASS, ATO) while collaborating with engineers and cyber operators to ensure alignment with mission-critical objectives and DoD standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design Zero Trust enclave architectures, segmentation strategies, and control-plane configurations
  • Deploy and configure ZTNA gateways, NAC, firewalls, and segmentation policies
  • Support ATO/ATO-M processes and generate artifacts in eMASS
  • Collaborate with engineers, operators, and leadership on risk assessments and roadmap planning
  • Analyze enclave performance, recommend improvements, and adapt to emerging threat landscapes.

Qualifications

3 – 5 years experience with the following:

  • Implementing NIST 800-207 Zero Trust models
  • Designing network enclaves with micro segmentation, VLANs, or SDN
  • Configuring firewalls, NAC, ZTNA gateways, VPNs, etc.
  • Working knowledge of DoD cybersecurity directives (DoDI 8500.01, CNSSI 1253)
  • Supporting certification/accreditation (ATO, continuous monitoring, SSEF)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills for technical briefings

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SASE/SSE models and OT-focused tools like MOSAICS
  • Familiarity with automation (Python, PowerShell, Ansible)
  • Deploying ZT controls in cloud or edge environments (AWS, Azure)
  • Working knowledge of eMASS or other GRC platforms
  • Exposure to digital twin tools (A3 Mission Assurance, Dagger)
  • Progress toward CISSP, CCSP, or related certifications

Compensation:

  • W2 Hourly rate: $64 - $69. Pay rates are based on experience, qualifications, location, and certifications, and are subject to change at any time.
