Our client is an award winning global integrator supporting a major branch of our Armed Forces. They have a need for an Environmental Program Manager (SME). In this role you will coordinate and lead the development, maintenance, analysis, and implementation of environmental governance and programmatic efforts - providing leadership updates, developing guidance and action plans, monitoring emerging contaminant regulations, and collaborating across DoD stakeholders to support mission requirements. This opportunity is 100% on-site in the Washington D.C. area.
Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE.
Coordinate, consolidate, develop, and maintain environmental governance and program documents, including policies, procedures, guidance, action plan recommendations, task and inquiry responses, and issue-resolution plans
Provide detailed updates to leadership and stakeholders by participating in meetings and forums and developing, coordinating, and delivering supporting materials such as briefings, slides, after-action reports, and meeting minutes
Conduct program analysis and support the planning, development, execution, and long-term sustainment of environmental programs
Collaborate across internal organizations and with external government partners to support environmental program objectives and mission requirements
Monitor new and evolving environmental regulations and policies related to emerging contaminants, and help develop, coordinate, and communicate appropriate organizational positions and actions
Support the development of field guidance and oversee implementation through coordination with multiple organizations
Prepare briefings, decision papers, and supporting documentation for working groups, leadership reviews, legislative data requests, staff briefings, and environmental program initiatives
Assist with tracking and responding to assigned tasks using established task management systems
Experience Requirement
Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental policy and budgeting
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 10 years of experience in environmental program management within the Department of Defense, including the development of environmental programs, policies, budget, guidance, and regulations
10+ years of experience in one or more of the following functional areas within a DoD office (listed in priority order):
Wildland Fire
POM advocacy and budget development
Conservation law enforcement
Natural resources
Cultural resources
Operational range assessment
