The ideal candidate is a hands-on practitioner with experience building and managing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines in regulated environments, and who can effectively contribute in a flexible, part-time capacity.

Per our client contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens and be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as AWS CDK and/or Terraform
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated, secure deployments
  • Develop and manage containerized applications and deployment workflows
  • Implement and maintain DevSecOps best practices, integrating security into all stages of the development lifecycle
  • Configure and manage AWS security services to ensure compliance and protection of cloud environments
  • Support environments aligned with FedRAMP standards and tooling
  • Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployment processes and improve system reliability
  • Utilize tools such as GitHub for source control and workflow automation
  • Support orchestration and workflow management using tools like Temporal (or similar frameworks)
  • Document infrastructure, deployment processes, and security controls

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or cloud engineering roles
  • Strong experience with:
    • Infrastructure as Code (CDK, Terraform)
    • CI/CD pipeline design and implementation
    • Container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes or equivalents)
    • AWS cloud services, particularly security-focused services
  • Familiarity with GitHub for version control and automation workflows
  • Understanding of secure software development and deployment practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a part-time consulting engagement (~20 hours/week)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting FedRAMP-compliant environments or other regulated systems
  • Familiarity with automation/orchestration frameworks such as Temporal
  • Knowledge of cloud security architectures and compliance frameworks
  • Experience working with public sector or government clients
  • Exposure to monitoring, logging, and incident response tools
