Overview

Our client is an award winning global integrator supporting a major branch of our Armed Forces.  They have an immediate need for a Facility Space Planner. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for HQ DAF space management and planning throughout the NCR, overseeing space allocation, utilization, relocations, real property and facility management, budget planning, and executive-level coordination to ensure facilities effectively support mission requirements.

 

Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HQ DAF space management and planning matters within the National Capital Region (NCR).
  • Initiate, plan, and coordinate real property and space management programs supporting HQ DAF mission requirements.
  • Conduct interviews, on-site inspections, and space validation assessments in accordance with applicable Rules of Engagement (ROE), policies, and guidance.
  • Analyze and strategically allocate space resources to optimize utilization and support organizational mission objectives.
  • Develop procedures, guidance, and instructions governing facility space allocation and management based on higher-level policy and industry best practices.
  • Procure, manage, allocate, and control office, storage, and special-use space for HQ DAF offices, Direct Reporting Units (DRUs), Field Operating Agencies (FOAs), and named activities throughout the NCR.
  • Support real property acquisitions, disposals, lease management, utilization assessments, in-grant/out-grant actions, accountability reporting, and budget development activities.
  • Prepare and submit requests for new space requirements, modifications to existing space, and required reporting documentation.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of documentation required for OSD space requests and approvals.
  • Serve as the primary Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) for Headquarters Air Force relocations within, into, or out of the NCR.
  • Develop and coordinate relocation plans for senior leader approval and ensure affected organizations are properly supported throughout transition activities.
  • Plan and submit rent data for HQ DAF space requirements as part of the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) budget process.
  • Review, investigate, and coordinate requests for alterations, repairs, and facility changes involving HQ DAF-occupied spaces.
  • Support organizational planning efforts associated with personnel realignments, mission changes, and functional adjustments impacting space requirements.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets supporting alterations, repairs, and services for leased facilities.
  • Consult and coordinate with flag officers, senior civilian officials, OSD representatives, GSA personnel, and other stakeholders on space management matters.
  • Support special projects, initiatives, and executive-level assignments through research, analysis, recommendations, and resolution of complex facility and space management issues.
  • Provide technical and administrative support, brief leadership, and prepare executive-level responses when higher-level coordination or involvement is required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting Department of the Air Force (DAF), Department of War (DoW), or Federal space management, facilities management, or real property programs.
  • 5+ years of experience coordinating relocations, space planning, utilization analysis, and facility management activities within the National Capital Region (NCR) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, and standard operating guidance related to space and facilities management preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting budget planning, POM submissions, lease management, and real property accountability activities preferred.
  • Knowledge of HQ DAF, OSD, GSA, and WHS space management policies, procedures, and reporting requirements preferred.
  • Ability to analyze complex space utilization issues and recommend strategic solutions to optimize facility usage.
  • Experience preparing reports, briefings, and executive-level correspondence for senior leadership stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating with senior military officers, civilian executives, and interagency stakeholders preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Power BI and/or analytical experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Facilities Management, Business, Public Administration, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related field preferred.
  • DoD/DoW Secret or higher clearance required.
