Overview

Be part of a Cyber Security Team working with a research program on one of the Federal Government’s critical missions. A Security Analyst is needed to support the security program initiatives outlined by program requirements.  The ideal candidate has working knowledge of security best practices, testing, and validation of security configurations across various technology platforms. 

 

This project is located in Bethesda, MD and is a 6 month contract to hire.  Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must have a valid Green Card.

Responsibilities

  • Vulnerability testing and security scans throughout the systems development lifecycle
  • Research and test proposed solutions in CSP environments to determine their feasibility and functionality
  • Assist with the review of Program related documentation such as standard operating procedures, security policies, Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms), and other documentation
  • Support the development of artifacts, such as project summaries, position statements, recommendations and point papers, for status reporting, executive communications, and stakeholder awareness
  • Monitor and maintain system configuration baselines and managed asset inventories
  • Assist with additional operations/program support activities, as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT field of study with 1+ years of Assessment & Authorization (A&A), cybersecurity, risk management, vulnerability management, and/or cloud security experience
  • Experience supporting an agency Information Security Program
  • Knowledge of security configuration best practices such as system patches and secure baseline configurations
  • Experience with public or private cloud service providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure
  • Working knowledge of cloud security tools such as tenant monitoring, cloud access security brokers (CASB), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and virtual network overlays
  • Good understanding of software code development and programming languages such as Java, C++, C#, HTML, PHP, and CSS
  • CSP training such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must have a valid Green Card 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Public sector cybersecurity experience
  • Additional cybersecurity and CSP certifications and training, such as Security +, CISSP, CCSP
  • Familiarity with Dev/Ops concepts
