Overview

Looking for a long-term project?  The Squires Group, Inc. is currently staffing for an exciting Federal Government venture located in Downtown Washington DC.  This is a five-year program, working to transform core HR functions, enabling the integration of multiple aspects throughout the department.  They have a need for a Configuration Manager that will develop and maintain the Configuration Management Plan (CMP).

 

Per our Federal Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. 

Responsibilities

  • Implement processes and procedures required to identify, define, and baseline Configuration Items (CI) throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Control modifications and releases of those items (g., project library, release management)
  • Report and record status of the items and modification requests and promote completeness, consistency, and correctness of the configuration items
  • Control storage, handling, and delivery of the configuration items
  • Design and implement a Configuration Management program for Production Support in compliance with the Configuration Management Plan
  • Document changes and maintain records of all software and hardware configuration items
  • Produce a monthly Configuration Management Report and control and monitor system changes for software, hardware, network devices and middleware
  • Deliver a quarterly audit report with findings, recommendations, and solutions
  • Perform a quarterly audit of the CM baseline to compare the external objects with the external objects on the Production servers to ensure CM compliance
  • Provide first and second tier assistance as required for applications and maintenance support
  • Ensure consistent server configurations in accordance with the program office Configuration Document
  • Implement role-based access for all privileged system users
  • Support the program office efforts to increase standardization, configuration, improve application performance and reduce complexity
  • Ensure configuration control for all software configurations items (objects, SQRs, SQLs, Scripts, etc.)
  • Perform periodic audit of all repositories and per necessary corrective plan of action with the Government Technical Manager’s approval
  • Maintain inventory and baseline of the technology components

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience as a Configuration Manager
  • Software Development and Management methods and ability to excel within an "Agile" and “Waterfall” environment
  • Expertise with build automation tools
  • Knowledge of source code control management systems and configuration management
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases administration ( e., Oracle, MySQL)
  • Good understanding of Quality Control and Test Automation in Agile-based Continuous Integration environments
  • Solid experience with STAT and SVN migration tools
  • ITIL and CSM certifications preferred
